Hi Bogdan,

Thank you for the reply.

The problem is solved! As I was trying to locate my older ATI drivers on a brand new machine, I had initially turned User Account Control off (turned the slider down to minimum) and then I had turned it back on and forgotten about it. I then remembered to turn back off and Voila! it worked again.
Therefore, It might be that some Windows 7 users have to turn it(UAC) off first to be able to execute AccessGain efficiently.

Given the nature of ATI installers I was not able to fix the problem. After 5 hours of brainwork and hard work I was disappointed and had to go the easy way - system restore. I never knew how to fix the actual problem. But either way, I have the right drivers up and running and it's all good.

But as for AccGain, I'm definitely keeping it for future reference and problems :)

Thanks again,
Raimo

Hi Raimo,

Did you try running chkdsk on that drive? It might be a corrupt file system that is preventing you from deleting those files.

Please try to check your disk for file system errors and let me know whether this solves the problem or not.

Thanks,
Bogdan

Hey Bogdan and your team,

I am posting concerning certain issues with Acgain. I've been struggling for weeks now in order to simply get rid of ATI old drivers which are all over the place in Windows' folder.
At first the access gain worked( I disabled the driver signature enforcement and installed the filter, as was written in the readme text file. Then I ran it in command prompt, but had to restart my computer.

After the first try, even though I boot up disabling the driver signature, it says access denied.

What's up ? I am positive I did not do anything wrong or differently.

Thanks

This is pure genius, whilst I recognize the possible nefarious purposes of this tools. It is extremely useful for data recovery and virus removal purposes.

Its a shame the tool is practically unheard of, I only stumbled upon it by pure luck.

Thankyou very much.

Da, si noi folosim sisteme 64-bit si speram cat de curand sa putem sa oferim o noua versiune de driver semnat care sa mearga si pe 64-bit.

Multumesc pentru aprecieri!

NTFS "security" is a joke anyway. I have just began testing NTFS security on Server 2008 and have found that if you give a non-admin modify rights to a folder, then remove their modify rights. Then have an admin create a file in that folder the non-admin can delete the file even though you can look at the permission levels and they clearly show that user should not be able to.

I needed to copy files from a dead XP Home laptop onto a new unit. This was always problematic, as the security got in the way. Even the tools built-in to Windows (take ownership, etc.) never worked with consistency.

This tool worked great! You've just saved me headaches and hassles!!

Yes, it should work the same way although FAT32 doesn't implement any kind of file security (as NTFS does).
